Volunteer at the Sunset 5K
A weeknight race with 1,000+ runners depends on the people who hand out bibs, line up corrals and keep the square running. Here is where help is needed on and how to sign up.
Where help is needed
- Packet pickupAt Jenkintown Running Co, 416 Old York Rd, Friday, May 28 – Sunday, May 30.
- Race-day check-in and registrationOn the Town Square from 5:00 PM until registration closes at 6:55 PM.
- Kids DashHelping the youngest runners through their race at 6:35 PM.
- Start lineGetting runners into their pace corrals before the 7:00 PM start.
- Awards and celebrationOn the Town Square once the runners are in.
If you are looking for a Montgomery County race volunteer role that fits into a single evening, most of these do. Tell the race director what you would like to help with and when you are free, and they will find a spot for you.

Why it matters
The race is organized by the Kiwanis Club of Jenkintown, and every entry benefits The Kiwanis Foundation of Jenkintown. Last year the Foundation gave $25,000 in grants to 39 local nonprofits. Every shift volunteers cover is one the club does not have to pay for, so more of each entry fee goes back to the community.
